Daily Bible Guide – Update #1

In late December of 2025, I decided to embark on what I think is the most important and also the largest project I have ever tackle, the Daily Bible Guide. I committed to sending out a daily email that corresponds with a Bible reading program. It is free and anyone can sign up to receive the emails. It has been a journey so far and we are not finished with January!

The email I sent out has three to four parts. First, there are introductory notes on each book as we encounter them as we are going through in canon order. Second, there are notes going through each chapter that the reading plan has assigned for the day. Third, there is a brief devotional thought or two. Fourth, the text of an old hymn is included that goes along with the content of the day.

I have just wrapped up the notes for Genesis, which is the first major milestone we have crossed. I have combined all the notes into this PDF:

As I said, this is only step one. My goal is to develop this into a series of workbooks that can be used to maximize your understanding in your daily Bible reading. This first step is assembling the foundational material. Second will be compiling it and adapting it for physical copies. Third, I hope to be able to produce spiral-bound notebooks that can be set next to your Bible and used as you study the Bible.

This is definitely not going to happen all this year. This is an idea I have been thinking about for quite sometime, basically combining a daily Bible reading with a commentary and notes to help people understand the Bible in a deeper more meaningful way. It is not going to be a stand alone devotional, but something that helps guide you on your journey through God’s Word.

I will try to post more updates throughout the year. All of the information in the previous sent out emails is available at DailyBibleGuide.org for free and the new emails will continue each day so long as I can keep up the pace.
